Illustrator - Michael Olivo

On this curation,
I thought I only wanted to feature photographers and photographers alone.

Now that this blog is more than a month old, and with over five hundred views a day that is not the case anymore. I've come to realize that I want to showcase many facets of work!

Some of the work I've come across really intrigues me, it really sets my mind on another path in terms of thinking.

For this next feature, I got to talk with Illustrator Michael Olivo about his sketchbook and what it exactly means!

Photographer - Bae Seungbin

Don't you love waking up in the morning?
Personally... I don't.
But imagine this if you will.

"Waking up to the fog dancing upon the evergreen from outside your log cabin window. The sun rising; the colors enhancing the already tantalizing beauty, you take in a solid deep breath and release it back into the strange world. Your mind, body, and soul feel invigorated."

Well that's how I feel about South Korean photographer Seungbin Bae, I am truly delighted to feature this talented photographer on the curation.

Photographer - Emily Savill

In my journey to showcase new artists.
I came across the ~mysterious~ photographer Emily Savill.

Well... Maybe not "mysterious" but you know, I'm just trying to jazz up my writing.
Is it jazzy enough for you? No? Alright awesome.

Again, emily. Good. Read below. Please and thanks!

Photographer - Sandra Lara

I always say to myself when I make images,
"I want to make people feel (insert emotion)".

If I can't make myself feel anything then I have failed in the image making process.
I was trying to go for a dramatic mood with the bold, italic, underlined look...

And with the next feature on As One Curation, I genuinely felt (insert emotion) about spanish portrait photographer Sandra Lara.

Untitled - 2013

1) I believe
that the sun says, “Good morning,”
sarcastically.
At 6 AM
he raises his fingers
and outlines my chest
and whispers, “Today, I will
shine for you again”
But when 7 PM comes
all I can hear
are his promises
bleeding through the windows.
He whispers, “I will love you again tomorrow.”
But by midnight he is just a dream.
2) Today arrives
and I see him dancing
with another person.
(I am broken)
For me
the only good thing
about this morning
was knowing that
there was a tonight.

Winter is

a bare tree.

Loosely rooted with
fragile bark, skinny branches
reaching towards the sky but
they are frozen.

40 mph winds

crashing against

prickly skin.

I am winter.

And my biggest mistake
was falling in love
with disaster.

Photographer - Peter Currie

Now it's time.
The birth.
The born.
The awakening.

The first blog post to As One Curation.

And as a treat, I am showcasing photographer Peter Currie, a resident of O' Canada and a current Concordia University student.

I had the pleasure of interviewing him about his latest series of images ON/OFF. I found Peter's wonderful website while browsing varies photography outlets such as Flickr, Tumblr, etc. I am so happy and humbled to have him on the curation.
